AIT Call for Senior Researchers on "Optical Network Planning" and "Digital Signal processing for coherent detection systems"
AIT Center invites applications for post-doctoral researcher positions who will work as members of the “High Speed Networks and Optical Communications” (NOC) research group. AIT, a Greek leading Center of Excellence for Research and Education focusing in the areas of Telecommunications and Information Technology is a not-for-profit scientific organization founded in 2002. AIT’s “High-Speed Networks and Optical Communications” group has a broad range of interests, know-how and tools to support state of the art research work related with optical network infrastructures. The group is currently involved in five (5) running FP7 ICT research projects related with the objectives “The Network of the Future” and “Photonics” and in one (1) National Project. In three (3) of these projects AIT's NOC group serves as Technical Manager of the entire consortium.
Research topics relevant to the applicants relate with:
* Network planning algorithms considering various constraints and optimization techniques and network level performance evaluation
* Digital Signal processing for coherent detection systems in core or/and access optical networks.
Responsibilities for this position includes conducting research in the above field leading to publications in top international academic journals and conferences and performing work in the relevant EU Research projects FOX-C, INSPACE, COCONUT, ACINO that the group is involved.
Applicants must have a B.Sc./M.Sc. in ECE or CS or Applied Physics and a doctorate in Optical Networking or Optical Communication Systems, a strong record of published research and evidence of research potential, as well as collegial spirit. Doctoral students in their last year of their studies are also welcome to apply and spend their final year at AIT.
The working language at AIT is English, therefore fluency in English is a requirement. Non-Greek speaking candidates are welcome.
